Custom TorqueFlite transmission in FrankenCharger

As FrankenCharger was always destined to be raced as well as driven to shows it was decided to upgrade the 727 Chrysler Torqueflite transmission to one that would be able to withstand the Torque of the stroked Small Block Mopar with a shot of Nitrous.

The inside of the transmission was removed and a custom made Race Billet Centre was fitted.  This was developed in the States by Mopar Drag racers and removed all of the weak spots that plague the Chrysler Automatics.

Combined with a Shifter upgrade for easy and direct shift down the 1/4 mile while still retaining the look of the custom interior in the VH Valiant Charger.

Linking the automatic box to the differential we have a Chrome Moly Tailshaft with 3” billet yokes.  This should ensure a nice firm transfer of power to the track in this Aussie Muscle Car.
