As technology has come a long way in the last 50 odd years it was decided to upgrade the old points system and distributor in the Superchief to a late GM style HEI Electronic Ignition system with inbuilt coil and MSD leads. While Shane had his head in the engine bay of the Pontiac he pulled off the 350 Holley, port matched the spacer plate for a new 4 barrel carburettor and port matched the heads to and early antique style Edelbrock aluminium inlet manifold. The Carburettor we decided on was a 750 Quadrajet and this combined with the new ignition gave us a massive increase in power and top end.
