The motor in the Dirty Dozen Valiant Charger was provided rebuilt by the client when we received the car. It has an Australian 265 Hemi 6 with Triple webbers on the intake.
We paired this with a set of Pacemaker Headers which we finished off with a custom made 2.25” dual exhaust system hand made from mandrel bent stainless steel. We finished off the exhaust with highly polished original style tips coming out under the rear bumper.
As this Australian Muscle car was an original 3 speed manual floor shift, we stayed with the original look shifter, however, updated the gearbox to a Tremec 5 speed transmission paired with a hydraulic clutch. This way giving him the luxury of the race short shift and the overdrive for long distance highway cruising.
In order to handle the punishment a manual box and the high torque a Hemi 6 motor puts out we fitted a custom made Aluminium race tail shaft and ended the drive train with a Borgwarner differential in rear.
True to form with the subtlety of this Resto - mod build the Borgwarner differential is not all it seems to be. This diff is hiding a tru-track centre with a 3.25:1 ratio and billet axles.
