"That roadtrip with friends in the back in 2011 that was pretty good, that was an adventure."
I had lowered it a bit before the Nationals and the Newell Hwy was in terrible shape. We were sitting on about 60 to 70 miles / hour and hit a high spot in the road then..."bang"... hole in the pan and smoke everywhere. It dropped all the oil out of the transmission "60km's out of Moree in the middle of Shit Creek". Luckily we were able to call the RACV and get it towed into Moree where a mechanic had opened on Good Friday in order to help us out. We put the car on the hoist and I helped him pull the pan off. The mechanic knew a "bloke" who could weld this up today, we took it down and he did a really good job welding it up. I asked him how much he wanted for it and he said $20.00. "I said $20 bucks, you know he could of charged me $200.00, it was Good Friday and I would of paid. So I gave him $50.00 and said thanks very much." Put the pan back on, filled it with oil and were good to go. "On Good Friday, in the middle of nowhere, so it was quite amazing."
"Then we made it (to the Warwick Pontiac Nationals) and I won a trophy."
