Electronic Ignition for the 57 Pontiac Superchief

Originally the 1957 Pontiac Superchief ran the original GM points system.  This system requires regular point’s adjustment and replacement whereas an electronic ignition system once installed and set no longer requires any adjustment, making it more cost effective in the long run.  After modifying the inlet manifold to fit the distributor cap we installed a General Motors HEI electronic ignition system.  This has provided the 347 with a fatter spark and better fuel burning leading to more power, better economy and more reliability.
