The Valiant Wagon had a Borgwarner single wheeler differential in it when we purchased it running 292 gears. As this is the Valigrunt work horse and used for towing and hauling heavy go fast parts it was decided to do some work on the drive-train. The differential received an upgrade to a limited slip, running a modified late model LSD to suite early gear sets, in this case 277. We ran 23 spline axles with heavy duty 1/2 inch studs. Installed new wheel bearings, new LSD carrier and bearings as well as new pinion bearings. And all of this filled up with Heavy Duty LSD oil. The 904 Borgwarner that was in the car was also rebuilt, getting a new low gear set, 5-1 kick-down lever, heavy duty bands and extra clutches to increase strength. All the gear sets were replaced with steel planetary gears and a standard stall converter was kept with the big boss modification. This gives a good solid gearbox and differential to move cars and parts around.
