Cuda gets a Dana 60 and 727 Box

April 20, 2024

It was time to update the diff and gearbox in the Barracuda. Even though the 904 had been rebuilt with a heavy duty kit it couldn't handle the power that the motor was pushing through it. So this was replaced with a 727 transmission with a 3.5 stall converter. The 8&3/4 Dana diff was then replaced with a brand new Dana 60 (9&3/4). This diff runs 4.1 diff gears with a Detroit Locker centre and 35 spline billet axles. A custom made tail-shaft was added and a Strange 1350 billet yolk was used. At the same time the rear braking was upgraded with the addition of cross drilled and slotted disc brakes. If it goes hard it should also be made to stop hard.
