Putting the Muscle back into Classic Cars

Giving the Graveyard Cuda some traction

December 23, 2024

On the racetrack traction is king, if the rear end cannot withstand the stress and transfer the power to the ground then it all goes up in smoke, or worse a big bang.  In order to use the force and transfer it into forward motion the Graveyard Cuda has a Dana 60 Limited Slip differential with 4:10 gear ratio.  The traditional leaf-spring rear was removed and upgraded to a more modern 4 link to allow for greater traction.  Coupled with wider stickier tyres for raceday allows for a cleaner, faster take off with minimal tyre smoke and maximum traction.  All of this power is flowing from the box to the differential with a heavy duty chrome moly tailshaft custom built by GJ Drivelines.  Have a look at the transformation on 7Plus’ Season 3 of Rides Down Under Workshop Wars. https://7plus.com.au/rides-down-under-workshop-wars?episode-id=RIDU03-00...
